Tenth-annual conference to focus on business models, new technologies, monetization, and partnerships in connected entertainment and smart home markets
Parks Associates will host the tenth-annual CONNECTIONS Europe™ on 10-11 November 2015 at the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, Amsterdam, to address new challenges and opportunities for service providers, technology and CE manufacturers, and smart home companies.
Parks Associates’ NUMBERS™ global forecasting service estimates there will be nearly 116 million pay-TV households in Western Europe by the end of 2015. Sales of smart TVs will exceed 23 million, and Western European consumers will buy nearly 13 million streaming media devices in 2015.
“Adoption of connected devices throughout Europe and the world is driving changes in consumer usage habits, including increasing consumption of OTT services. Service providers are also deploying innovations in offerings, such as smart home and energy management controls tied to the smartphone,” said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates. “CONNECTIONS™ Europe sessions and networking opportunities focus on partnerships, compelling business models, and integration of new technologies that will open new business opportunities for IoT, security, home automation, connected entertainment, and support services in the connected home.”
CONNECTIONS™ Europe—IoT: Connected Entertainment and the Smart Home will analyze the key issues in the expansion of the connected home, including privacy and data security, content licensing and distribution, interoperability and the integration of technology platforms, and the challenge of creating and communicating value propositions that can generate mass-market appeal and reoccurring revenue.
