Research Director to present connected consumer research at Internet of Things World Europe, October 5-7

New European research from Parks Associates shows 8% of U.K. broadband households have at least one smart watch. These wearables, which can connect to the Internet, create new health, mobile payment, and smart home opportunities for companies in the IoT ecosystem, according to the firm’s consumer research project Connected Consumer in Europe.

“The IoT concept is so all encompassing it is easy to miss its practical implications for specific markets, industry players, and consumers,” said Jennifer Kent, Director, Research Quality & Product Development, Parks Associates. “Consumer IoT is all about the connected lifestyle, which is expanding beyond smartphones in a meaningful way, creating new applications for people to live independently and monitor their health.”

Kent will discuss the new research and lead several discussions on the connected consumer lifestyle at Internet of Things World Europe, October 5-7, at the MARITIM proArte Hotel in Berlin. She will lead the roundtable "The Connected Healthcare Consumer: Bridging the Consumer and Care Professional Ecosystems," moderate the panel "Trends, Timelines and Predictions: Assessing the Future of the Connected Car," and chair the Connected Cars and Healthcare & Wearables tracks.

Connected Consumer in Europe tracks adoption and usage of smart devices and CE, digital media, and smart home services. Parks Associates will also present this new research at the tenth-annual CONNECTIONS™ Europe – IoT: Connected Entertainment and the Smart Home, 10-11 November, in Amsterdam.

Media interviews with Jennifer Kent are available. To request a meeting or specific research data, contact Holly Sprague at hsprague@gmail.com or 720-987-6614.
