According to a NY Times Bits article, Samsung is launching mini-stores in Best Buy stores across the United States called the Samsung Experience Shop.
Samsung will also be playing a huge role in the upcoming CONNECTIONS Conference (co-located with CTIA) from May 20-23 in Las Vegas. Steve Cho, Head of Service Strategy, Marketing, and E-Commerce will represent Samsung Media Solution Center America on May 20 at 3 PM in the session "Monetization of Connected Devices: Apps and Advertising." Jonathan Kim, VP, Content & Services, Samsung Media Solutions Center, Samsung will present the keynote address on May 21st at 1:30 PM. Kevin Morrow, Vice President for Strategic Partnerships will represent Samsung Media Solutions Center America on May 22 at 3:15 PM in the session, "Search, Discovery, Recommendation: New Revenues and Experiences."
By the end of June, they will be opening 1,400 of the experiences highlighting Samsung electronics (smartphones, tablets, cameras, laptops, televisions and accessories) in one targetted area. Trained employees will be able to educate shoppers on Samsung devices and walk them through purchase, activation, and customer support issues.
As Samsung is the biggest maker of phones in the world, they are still trying to competing heavily with the Apple's iPhone, the top selling mobile device in the US.
