Telehealth Services are Here to Stay: Insights from EarlySense

Parks Associates’ Connected Health Summit: Consumer Engagement and Innovation returns for the first session of 2022, Health and Home: State of the Market, on Thursday, January 20, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM CT. Matt Johnson, CEO, EarlySense, will be featured as an interactive panel member at 11:15 AM CT, where he and other major executives will address the impact that technology has to support various types of monitoring, wellness, and predictive healthcare outcomes. Prior to the session, Matt provided insights on what the presence of COVID-19 will continue to mean for the connected health market.

How have the latest waves of the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the connected health market? What short-term and long-term implications do you perceive?

Not a lot of people sell their cars after their first Uber ride. But after their first ride, they do sort of realize when and how Uber might fit into their lives.

I think the same is true for telehealth. So many people used telehealth during the pandemic and now they get it. After someone has their first telehealth visit, I think they will use it to replace the majority of simple, unscheduled primary care and urgent care visits. This makes care more immediate, but also more transactional.
