Amazon has continued to invest in its streaming service and smart devices as competition has begun to heat up. The company is the market leader in global smart-speaker shipments, according to market research firm Canalys, and it is neck-and-neck with Roku in streaming-media-player market share, research firm Parks Associates reported. Roku has grown rapidly in part by offering its own branded operating software for several TV brands.
