Smart home analyst to discuss new research with Icontrol Networks and Security Systems News in industry webcast

Smart home research from Parks Associates shows over 50% of all smart home device owners consider interoperability as “very important” and the value increases with each device purchased, reaching 60% among households that have three devices.

Parks Associates will discuss its smart home research in the webcast “Increase profits by adding home automation services," hosted by Icontrol Networks and featuring Security Systems News, on Thursday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. ET. The webcast discusses the value of smart home solutions and strategies for security providers and dealers to extend these features to their current customers.

“Interactive and smart home services extend the value of security while creating new revenue opportunities for dealers,” said Tom Kerber, Director, Research, Home Controls & Energy, Parks Associates. “Device interoperability is crucial to realizing the new value equation for the smart home, and the security channel, because of its consultative selling approach, is leading the market.”

Parks Associates research shows that over 60% of U.S. broadband households are unfamiliar with smart products and services. Therefore, a consultative selling approach that educates consumers on product and service options is necessary in the early stages of the smart home market.

Kerber will join the following executives in the webcast:

  • Greg Roberts, VP, Marketing, Icontrol Networks
  • Moderated by Martha Entwistle, Editor, Security Systems News
