Parks Associates and PLMA examine growth trajectory for DER and smart home over next several years in industry webcast

Parks Associates research reveals one-third of U.S. broadband households own at least one product that can be controlled with their smartphone, with smart home adoption growing alongside distributed energy resources (DER) such as renewable generation, battery storage, and electric vehicles. Parks Associates and PLMA will co-host the complimentary industry webcast “The Future of DER: Energizing the Smart Home” on Tuesday, June 26, 1 p.m. CT (2 p.m. ET), to examine the opportunities and challenges as smart home and DER industries follow strong growth trajectories over the next several years.

Importance of Having an Energy Efficient Home | Parks Associates

According to Parks Associates research, 18% of U.S. broadband households own a home automation device. Smart thermostats are the most common device—13% of households own a smart thermostat. The industry webcast will address strategies for energy providers and other smart home and IoT providers to expand business plans as adoption of smart home solutions increases and more of these products impact the grid.
