The 2027 Emmys need a home — will it be on Netflix, Prime Video, or YouTube?

Michael Goodman, director of entertainment research at Parks Associates, says that if the rights head to the open market, there could be a significant increase in the rights fees or whoever winds up with the Emmys.

“I would not be surprised if there's a fairly significant bidding war,” Goodman emphasizes, noting that unlike five years ago, major streaming platforms now have a stronger incentive to bid. “It would be a real feather in your cap if you’re carrying the Emmys and your service won the award for Best Comedy Series or Best Drama Series.”
