I like that quote from Derrick Oien, CEO of chumby, from the recent Cable Show. Given the presence of "TV App Giants" (Yahoo, Google, Samsung, IBM, Toshiba, Panasonic, etc.) in this space, how does a company with a backgound in providing a cute widget box compete in this space? I'd like to ask Derrick that in the Connected TVs: Beyond OTT panel on Thursday. Are all device manufacturers going to be required to put in an Intel CE 3100/4100 system-on-chip onto their device to support the Internet on TV? Also, what is the future of the smart TV? Is it a "Widget Box?" I'll bet that Richard Bullwinkle from Rovi will have something to say about that Wednesday afternoon at our panel Who's Monetizing Digital Media."
