Technicolor, iControl Networks, ADB, and Sigma Designs share insights during executive conference

Parks Associates European research shows growing consumer interest in smart home devices, although the mass market is strongly inclined to purchase self-monitored devices, one at a time, with no subscription fees. The research firm will address the interoperability challenges in home controls and energy management at CONNECTIONS™ Europe during the session "Interoperability in the Home Controls Market," featuring executives from Technicolor, ADB, iControl Networks, and Sigma Designs.

CONNECTIONS™ Europe: Monetization Strategies for the Connected Home takes place November 12-13 at the Mövenpick Hotel in Amsterdam. The event focuses on emerging entertainment and smart home technologies and services and features  keynotes from iControl Networks, Orange, and Securitas Direct – Verisure.

Parks Associates research finds 27-30% of broadband households in the U.K., France, Germany, and Belgium show strong interest in purchasing at least one home monitoring device that they could manage remotely via the Internet. Roughly 10-20% of consumers are willing to purchase self-monitored security devices such as IP-based detectors or call buttons.

"At CONNECTIONS™ Europe, we will explore challenges to companies in this space and strategies among service providers, OEMs, security firms, and utilities, including the opportunities for partnerships," said Tom Kerber, Director, Home Controls and Energy Management Research, Parks Associates.
