In advance of its research workshop at 2014 Smart Energy Summit next week, Parks Associates announced new research today showing 16% of U.S. broadband households are highly likely to purchase a renewable-energy power generator over the next five years. Nearly 60% of these households plan to purchase solar panels, the most popular option among renewable-energy power generators.
With nearly 40% of U.S. broadband households interested in purchasing energy management products for the home, consumers are taking one of two paths toward the connected home -either they acquire smart thermostats, network cameras, or smart appliances one at a time, or they purchase a connected home system that includes a bundle of safety, security, or energy-related products.
Parks Associates’ pre-summit workshop, "Accelerating the Adoption of Energy Management,” will be held Monday, February 17, 1:00-5:30 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel, Austin, Texas. Industry analysts will present detailed findings from consumer and industry studies on the home energy management markets.
