Telecom providers have a unique advantage in field sales and service because they already sit at the center of the connected home. Parks Associates found that 71% of U.S. home-internet households received their router or gateway from their internet service provider. That router is no longer supporting only laptops and phones. Parks also found that the average number of connected devices per U.S. internet household reached 17 in Q3 2023.
