Industry Gold Mine: Advanced Home Cabling

The industry boom is expected to continue at an increasingly frenzied pace as homebuyers become more educated on the importance of structured cabling and as they begin demanding it in the homes they buy.

Parks Associates, a Dallas-based market research and consulting firm that specializes in emerging technologies and services for the home, predicts that within three years, advanced home cabling systems will be installed in as many as 500,000 new homes annually. This is a 1,000 percent growth over 1998. In two or three years, structured cabling technology for the existing home market should also be in place, thereby opening the door to millions of homes across the country.

The industry explosion by Parks Associates stems from ever-increasing builder and consumer awareness about the enormous benefits of structured cabling.
