TXU Energy has recently released Brighten SM iThermostat, a programmable thermostat that gives you control over the temperature in your home through any Web-enabled PC or smartphone.
The new Brighten iThermostat includes a new thermostat with a color touch screen display, an enhanced online portal with expanded features and upgraded controls now available through the TXU Energy iPhone app. It also automatically switches between heating and cooling as needed to keep indoor temperatures comfortable, a feature that’s especially useful between seasons. The convenient controls are complemented by the cost savings it offers, as you can save up to $360 or more over two years just by using its preprogrammed settings.
The company has also expanded the features of the TXU Energy MyEnergy Dashboard, an energy savings solution that offers a personalized view of your home’s electricity consumption, giving you insight into how your habits at home affect your electricity usage – and your bill. The dashboard is available online to any TXU Energy customer for free, and it now offers a new home comparison section that lets you compare the electricity usage of your home with similar homes in your area based on information you provide, including ZIP code, home type, age of home, square footage and heating type. It also offers a new usage breakdown section—including a pie chart that shows your approximate electricity usage and cost for heating, cooling, water heating, lighting, electronics, appliances, refrigeration and other equipment.
With the launch of the TXU Energy Mobile App for iPhone in 2011, TXU Energy became the first electricity retailer in Texas to offer its customers mobile access to their accounts through a free app for the iPhone, iPad®, and iPod touch®. The app now allows you to control your home temperature settings if you have the Brighten iThermostat.
