Recently, Infinitec introduced the Pocket TV, bringing the power of Android to living rooms everywhere. The 3.4 by 1.2 by 0.6-inch device resembles a USB flash drive, with an HDMI connector that plugs directly into any TV’s HDMI port. The new micro-computer is powered by a single-core, 1-GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor; similar to what powers Android smartphones. A Mali-400MP GPU pushes content onto HDTVs with a resolution of 1080p HD. The Pocket TV will come with 4GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot can accept cards up to 32GB. The device will also feature Wi-Fi and a USB port for connecting additional devices.

In comparison with its top competitors, Google and Apple, the Pocket TV will turn any standard HDTV into a large tablet. Infinitec’s device will provide Smart TV standards like Web browsing, Netflix, and media playback. But what sets it apart from its competitors is that the device also runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which brings the vast selection of apps in the Google Play app market to any living room.

Since the Pocket TV, can’t transform a TV set into a touch screen, its offering three options for navigating through apps and content. The first is a standard IR remote that comes with every unit. The second is the Air Remote, which includes a gyroscopic sensor and QWERTY keyboard. Lastly, the Pocket TV will also be compatible with the Google Remote TV app, transforming any smartphone into a TV remote.
