Sub-Zero and Wolf Appliance have made the new Smart Appliance App and Smart Appliance Module available. The system, engineered by Card Access, integrates Control4 into wireless home control systems.
The Smart Appliance App builds on the premise that consumers are looking for solutions that enhance their lifestyle. The system's functions include notifications of pre-heat and timer completion, current oven temperature, and knowing when meals are finished cooking based on the internal temperature probe's reading.
System alerts can notify homeowners if the refrigerator door is left open, helping to prevent food spoilage. The app can also maximize energy efficiency by lowering the refrigerator's power consumption at different times of day. The app can also accommodate specific lifestyle needs such as increasing ice production prior to entertaining, saving energy in vacation mode, and choosing the Sabbath mode for religious observances. The system can also enhance service. General service requests can be sent directly to service through the Control4 system, leading to quicker diagnosis and resolution of problems.
