In a deal with undisclosed terms, Siemens has purchased eMeter and will be integrating the company's meter data software into Siemens' product line. The software gathers two-way meter data every fifteen minutes and sends it back to utilities and business systems to identify usage and trends. Through eMeter's software, customers can view their usage information on a device such as a dashboard.
It's one of many ways eMeter, and now Siemens, is moving beyond simply data collection. eMeter is also working on an analysis program that will process all the data in a method that can be utilized in business reports and other analytical programs. Earlier this year, the smaller company also partnered with Verizon to launch a cloud app version of its EnergyIP meter data management software.
