New smart energyresearch from Parks Associates released today shows adoption of smart thermostats reached 13% of U.S. broadband households in 2017, up from 11% in 2016. The IoT research firm will explore new opportunities for utilities and energy providers to leverage the growth of smart home devices and solutions at the ninth-annual Smart Energy Summit: Engaging the Consumer, February 19-21, 2018, at the Omni Austin Downtown in Austin, Texas.

“The steady rise of adoption in smart thermostats comes as multiple sales channels offer and promote these devices,” said Tom Kerber, Director, IoT Strategy, Parks Associates. “At Smart Energy Summit, we will explore new strategies for utilities and energy providers to expand their services through these smart devices as well as partnership opportunities for the device makers and manufacturers.”
