During the fifth-annual Smart Energy Summit, speakers from Alarm.com, iControl Networks, Lowe's, and Time Warner Cable will visit this topic in a session on February 18, examining the partnership opportunities that will expand energy management capabilities to the mass market.

Smart home devices are increasing in popularity as consumers realize the benefits and convenience these products have to offer. However, Parks Associates research finds that while consumers are interested in smart home devices and solutions, they are looking for a broader scope of offerings.

For example, over 40% of US households are interested in home energy management solutions, but only a mere 1% of those are interested in home energy management as a single offering. Instead, homeowners want a solution that fits into a broader, bundled offering. It is therefore up to utilities, platforms, and service providers to work together to create a solution that fits the wants and needs of consumers.
