Rogers Communications going to launch a version of its Anyplace TV app that that streams video-on-demand titles to LG’s new line of connected TVs without the need for a separate set-top box. The app, made for LGs Smart TVs, will have a library of more than 1,000 hours of content for subscribers.

Rogers’ app will provide content from channels such as City, Global and CBC to postpaid wireless, home phone and Internet, and extending access to premium-level content from networks such as AMC, Treehouse and HGTV to its cable TV subscribers.

The company has also made the app for PCs, smartphones, tablets, and the Xbox 360 console. Some of Rogers’s TV Everywhere fare comes pre-loaded on some phones and tablets that are sold directly through the company.
