Opower has announced that it has successfully completed the Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type 2 examination related to the Security and Confidentiality principles of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Trust Services Principles (TSPs). This examination covered the design and effectiveness of Opower’s security controls over Opower 4.

The examination included testing controls related to the Opower 4 Customer Engagement Platform. The SOC 2 Type 2 report shows that the controls were suitably designed and operate to meet the standards for the security and confidentiality principles set forth in TSP section 100. These principles include: Trust Services Principles, Criteria, and Illustrations for Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy.
