After recent acquisitions of SVOX, a company that developers voice recognition software for in-car systems and consumer electronics, and Equitrac Corp., a provider of print management and cost recovery software, Nuance Communications Inc., announced plans to acquire Loquendo, a subsidiary of Telecom Italia.
Nuance's latest acquisition is taking place to accelerate the development of speech-recognition services in Europe and Latin America. Loquendo provides a range of speech technologies in 32 languages. The sale, expected to close in September, has an estimated enterprise value of $75 million USD.
