Google has debuted a new orb-shaped media streaming device called the Nexus Q. The company calls the Nexus Q the first social streaming media player and is available on the Google Play online store.
Google's Nexus Q uses an Android smartphone or tablet with Google Play to stream music and videos to a HDTV, sound system, or a pair of speakers. What sets Google’s product apart from other media streaming devices, such as Apple TV, is that the Nexus Q allows users to collaborate together using Android devices to create playlists of music and video clips.
The Nexus Q runs Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich, and comes with 16GB of storage. Google will selling the Nexus Q at a list price of $299.
