According to GE, using Google Maps data will enhance the ability of utilities to visualize data on a map and quickly provide customers with information, such as giving an idea on when power will be restored after an outage. For field operators, GE will tap Google's Android platform to augment its existing portfolio of mobile products, providing better contextual information to users in the field.
