Parks Associates announced the 6th annual CONNECTIONS™ Europe: Cloud Services, CE & Service Provider Strategies which will be held November 8-9 at the Mövenpick in Amsterdam. The executive summit, with sponsors PacketVideo, Siemens, and Technicolor, focuses on the expansion of cloud, entertainment, and value-added services and the changing roles of service providers as households adopt connected CE.
The average broadband household in Western Europe spent over €850 on CE products in 2010, and with 30-40% now owning a connected device, the window is open for a variety of new cloud, entertainment, and connectivity solutions. Future purchase intentions for connected TVs, tablets, and smartphones are strong in multiple countries, and we will see a steady rise in demand for video services on these platforms. CONNECTIONS™ Europe will focus on the opportunities in developing and bundling a variety of new value-added services to align with the needs and wants of the new broadband households in Europe.
The agenda for CONNECTIONS™ Europe will feature panel sessions with executives representing service providers, CE manufacturers, and content and distribution companies. Core topics:
Penetration of CE within EU households
Evolution of television and access services
Digital media habits, preferences, and trends among broadband households
Impact of new mobile services and platforms, including smartphones and tablets
Opportunities for controls and home management technologies
