International research firm Parks Associates will present new business models and customer retention strategies for digital service providers and CE manufacturers at the upcoming CONNECTIONS™ Europe Research Summit, Nov 8-9, 2011, in Amsterdam.

The firm's research shows YouTube dominates today's online video market worldwide, with the site garnering over 90% of the UGC (user-generated content) audience in Europe. Parks Associates also indicates consumers are increasingly willing to discontinue or downsize their pay-TV services while compensating by accessing video from over-the-top (OTT) sources. As a result, broadband, television, communications, and wireless service providers must take on new roles and execute innovative business strategies to stay competitive in this new market.

"By 2015, consumers in North America and Western Europe will be spending nearly $16 billion for online video," said Kurt Scherf, VP, Principal Analyst, Parks Associates. "Growth of connected consumer electronics, advances in mobile and portable devices, and challenges to access service delivery models are all impacting delivery of content and services. CONNECTIONS™ Europe offers high-level analysis and consumer research to inform new business strategies and identify ways to leverage emerging consumer trends to higher ARPU."

Parks Associates' analyst team will present new European consumer data, from surveys of over 10,000 broadband households in multiple countries, in three special research sessions:

Cloud Services: Increasing ARPU
