More than a third of US broadband homes now have smart TVs

In research presented at the CE Week conference in New York this week, Parks said that 34% of US broadband homes now have a smart TV and that more than 70% of smart TV owners have connected the device to the internet.

“Also, nearly two-thirds of people shopping for a flat-panel TV this year plan to buy a smart TV. These trends show the smart TV has a significant role in the connected home and is a key device to extend new services and experiences to consumers,” said Parks.
