"Everybody looking at home networking realizes that bandwidth will be critical," says Kurt Scherf, vice president of research at Parks Associates in Dallas, a leading researcher on home networking.  "We’re working to a point in time where there will be multiple streams of Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG-2) video, multiple digital channels and HDTV.  Designers will be putting out technologies that are upwards of 100 Mbps in a short time."
