The big-screen experience comes home. The average consumer will spend 78 hours watching movies at home this year vs. 13 at theaters, according to forecasters Veronis Suhler Stevenson. And people are buying bigger screens to do so: 37% of homes have 32-inch or larger screens, up from 33% last year, according to the Santa Monica, Calif., research firm Centris. Home theater installations ($25,000-$30,000) hit 60,000 last year and are expected to rise 12% to 15% this year, according to Parks Associates of Dallas.
