Parks Associates Organizes a Session at CONNECTIONS: The Digital Living Conference and Showcase

Parks Associates, a market research and consulting firm focused on residential product and service segments, recently noted that global smartphone sales surged more than 70% in 2010. Such high sale figure, according to Parks Associates, is making app stores, social networking platforms, and cloud-based innovations force mobile operators to reexamine their business models and ensure improved connectivity and content access. To discuss the new market trends and analysis, Parks Associates is organizing the session “The Mobile Cloud: Apps, Services and Innovations" at CONNECTIONS: The Digital Living Conference and Showcase, June 28-30, Santa Clara. The top executives from Ericsson (News - Alert), Femto Forum, HCL, Telcordia, and Zodiac Interactive will join Parks Associates on Wednesday, June 29, 2:30 p.m. Parks Associates will present new consumer research, including market analysis as mobile broadband and Internet applications drive demand for improved connectivity and content access.

“Over one-third of U.S. smartphone users prefer accessing mobile content through apps rather than a web browser," said Harry Wang, Director, Health & Mobile Product Research, Parks Associates, in a statement. "Parks Associates has called on operators to beef up their own content and value-added service offerings in light of threats from app stores. With the success of storefronts such as Apple’s iTunes and Google’s Android Market, operators must work to close the gap."

The session, moderated by Wang, will feature Michael Adams, VP, Software Strategies, Solution Area TV, Ericsson; Sukamal Banerjee, VP, Engineering Services, HCL; Brandon Brown, CEO, Zodiac Interactive; Andy Germano, Vice Chairman, Femto Forum and Bill Stanley, Executive Director, Telcordia.
