CEDIA Commissions Second Industry Market Research Project

CEDIA (the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) has commissioned international market research company, Parks Associates, to repeat its extensive survey into the UK residential custom installation sector first carried out last year. Commencing in July 2013, CEDIA will again survey custom integrators installing CEDIA portfolio products in the UK to build on the picture of the residential custom installation industry; last year, the UK market value, based on survey findings, was worth in excess of £1 billion.

“Last year’s research was a significant first step for the UK residential custom installation industry,” says Wendy Griffiths, Executive Director of CEDIA Region 1. “Carrying out research again this year will help us identify market trends, assess changes in the size, scope and potential of the sector and validate the results of last year’s study. Above all, it will provide all stakeholders within our sector with high value information that will ensure they can move their businesses forward with greater certainty.” According to last year’s research, average projected turnover for UK CI companies in 2012 stood at £1.43m, up from a reported £1.27m in 2011. The survey sized the UK residential custom installation sector as worth from between £720 million and £950 million for 2011, and predicted a market value of £1.07 billion by the end of 2012.

This year, CEDIA focuses the questions on the priority areas for UK companies. The streamlined study will be conducted, principally, through an on-line survey, allowing business owners to complete the survey at their convenience. All CEDIA member companies taking part will be eligible to receive one free copy of the survey, and all participating integrators will be entered into a draw to win one of three VIP packages to attend ISE 2014.
