Fourth-annual Smart Energy Summit to focus on consumer engagement and market strategies for energy-saving solutions

Parks Associates today announced the topics and Advisory Board members for the fourth-annual Smart Energy Summit: Engaging the Consumer, in San Antonio, Texas, February 25-27, 2013. New research from Parks Associates finds interest in energy-saving devices overall has declined slightly but younger consumers are starting to show more interest in these devices. Over 90% of U.S. broadband consumers 18-34 would pay for a smart thermostat or smart water controls if the solution saves 20% on energy consumption.

Smart Energy Summit focuses on consumer engagement with energy management services and technologies, partnership opportunities, and consumer-oriented solutions. The conference has early sponsorship support from Alarm.com, EcoFactor, Hitachi, Lowe's, PlanetEcosystems, Qualcomm, and Itron.

"Young consumers are now the likely buyers of energy-saving devices, and they bring with them high expectations on the look and functionality of high-tech solutions," said Tom Kerber, Director, Research, Home Controls & Energy, Parks Associates. "Smart Energy Summit brings together key executives from service providers, OEMs, utilities, and government to discuss market segmentation and trends, current deployments and partnerships, and strategies to leverage consumer interest for long-term growth."

The Advisory Board for Smart Energy Summit provides guidance and recommendations into event topics, strategy, and marketing. This year's advisory board includes the following industry leaders:
