Pay TV Soars In Spanish-Language Homes

Among bilingual Spanish-language households with broadband internet, 89 percent subscribe to a pay-TV service, according to a new report from Parks Associates. That compares to 84 percent of all U.S. broadband households.

Further, 75 percent of bilingual Spanish-language households subscribe to at least one OTT video service. That numbers is just 66 percent among all broadband households.

“The biggest surprise was the degree of appetite for video services compared to average broadband households,” Parks Associates, tells Media Life. “Almost 70 percent of Spanish-bilingual households subscribe to Netflix compared with around 50 percent of average broadband households. That is a huge difference.”
