IFC Films Launches Subscription Streaming Channel Anchored To Start Of Cannes

While the streaming wars are heating up among Disney, WarnerMedia and NBCUniversal, more niche services continue to populate the landscape, though the numbers have started to level off. There were 233 subscription services as of April, according to research firm Parks Associates, down two from 2018.
In its nearly two-decade run, IFC has released narrative films such as Y Tu Mamá También, The Thin Blue Line and The Trip, documentaries like How to Survive a Plague and Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work, and genre films The Babadook and Room 237.
