Four In Ten US Phone Owners Using Voice Recognition Software

A total of 39 percent of smartphone owners in the US are using some sort of voice recognition software such as Siri or Google Now, according to a study by Parks Associates. In terms of market share, Apple’s platform is currently outpacing Android, with over half of iPhone owners using voice recognition compared to less than a third of Android phone owners. In fact, use of the "Siri" voice recognition software among iPhone users increased from 40 percent to 52 percent between 2013 and 2015, said the report, adding that younger users are particularly drawn to the feature. A total of 48 percent of smartphone users aged 18-24 use voice recognition software.
