Five Factors For Connected Video App Success

With the advent of near-ubiquitous broadband and increasing connected TV (CTV) penetration, over-the-top (OTT) video apps are multiplying rapidly to meet consumer demands for more viewing options on both large and small screens today.

By the end of next year, there will be around 759 million CTV sets worldwide, supporting this speedy uptick in video app rollout.

Ooyala recently examined connected video app activity in a report from Parks Associates and found that among U.S. broadband households, more than one-quarter of current OTT video service subscriptions were purchased through a connected device app ? including apps on streaming media players, game consoles, and CTVs.
