Consultation App Debuts

Video consultations are expected to be used in the homes of more than 22 million families by 2018. A report from Parks Associates predicts this type of virtual care will become a $13.7 billion industry in that time. “Next-generation cloud-based technologies will enable providers to tailor remote care programs to specific populations so they can cost-effectively move patients from an acute-care setting to self-managed behavior,” said Harry Wang, director of digital health research.

Not only will patients be able to contact their physician from their homes, but now, thanks to TouchCare, mobile connections will also be possible. Their mobile app provides face-to-face video appointments on a triple-encrypted line. Physicians and their patients can consult via smartphones or tablets.
