The majority of US and European homes currently have a PlayStation or Xbox nestling under the television but according to Parks Associates, fewer than 50 percent of US homes will still have one by 2019.
What's more, in some European countries, the trend is at a more advanced stage -- game console penetration in French homes, for example, has already dropped from 59 to 49 percent over the past three years.
