Entertainment Industry Opens Arms To Cord Cutters

Hartstein's decision was made easier because of a flood of Internet streaming services that allows consumers to cobble together their own video packages. There are more than 100 Internet video services operating in the U.S., with at least 40 percent launching during the last two years, according to Dallas consulting firm Parks Associates.

Smart TVs Don't Seem So Smart Compared With Streaming Devices

“If you're a streaming media box (maker), you've got much more ability to push new features out into the market at an affordable price,” says Barbara Kraus, Parks Associates' director of research. “They're very stiff competition for smart TVs.”
