SVODs Are Hot, But Subscribers Are Still Fickle: Survey

You might think the generation that regards traditional television with something approaching open disdain would be unwavering in their loyal to the SVODs and OTTs that stream their beloved content anytime and anywhere they want it.

Is It Time To Bank On Mobile?

The survey by Parks Associates found that 70% of U.S. smartphone users watch at least one short streaming video clip daily. More than 20% of users send more than 30 minutes each day watching short-form content, such as YouTube clips and music videos. Another 40% watch longer-form videos at least once a day, and the majority of them spend an average of 30 minutes doing so.

Streaming devices a hot commodity during Black Friday blow-out

Recent research from Parks Associates showed that in 2014, Roku out-sold other brands of connected TV devices, representing 34% of the market. The second-most popular brand was Google, maker of Chromecast, at 23%. Amazon and Apple Devices ranked third and fourth, respectively.

Roku rises above the rest in connected TV market: study

The market for connected TV devices is heating up with Roku developing a significant lead over its competition, according to research from Dallas-based research firm Parks Associates.

Mobile TV app users to reach 1.29 billion by 2018: Study

But TV-related apps stand out from the crowd. According to new data from Dallas, Texas-based market research firm Parks Associates released on Thursday, TV apps, which people use to stream movies and series on their mobile devices, are being used at least once a month by 55% of U.S. smartphone owners and 61% of tablet owners.
