AI systems switch your energy bills to save you money

Tom Kerber, a researcher at Dallas-based consultancy Parks Associates in Texas, says other industries will be interested in that appliance-level data. "A water heater's electricity-consumption pattern changes just prior to failure," he says. "If the boiler's manufacturer had that data, it could schedule repairs more efficiently."
