Earlier this week, Sprint and HTC announced a new smartphone, Evo 3D, and a 7-inch tablet, Evo View, that will run on Sprint's 4G WiMax network. Both will be available sometime this summer, although pricing has not been announced. HTC’s Evo 3D will run on Android’s Gingerbread OS, also known as Android 2.3. It will also feature a dual-core 1.2-GHz Snapdragon processor, making it the fastest smartphone on the market.

Sprint HTC and Tablet GraphicSprint and HTC introduced their first WiMax smartphone, HTC Evo 4G, a year ago, and in that time, the device has been Sprint's most successful smartphone. With the addition of the 3D feature, users will be able to experience stereoscopic 3D capability, without wearing special glasses. They will also be able to send content from the phone to a 3D-capable TV via an HDMI port. As the interest and desire for 3D TVs keeps growing, it has been predicted that the new trend of 3D-capable smartphones will be received by popular demand.

HTC’s Evo View tablet will feature a Scribe digital pen, designed to enable handwritten input and editing of documents, and will also have the capability to record audio. The tablet runs a 1.5-GHz processor and features front and rear-facing cameras for videoconferencing. Like the Evo 3D smartphone, it will run Android’s Gingerbread OS, but will be upgraded to Android’s Honeycomb OS (Android 3.0).
