Parks Associates releases new whitepaper highlighting developments in the smart home and IoT industries following CES®

IoT research firm will host CONNECTIONS™ on May 23-25, focusing on growth opportunities in the connected home, with keynotes from Intel, Vivint, Comcast, and Cox Communications

Parks Associates today announced the new whitepaper “2017 CES® Coverage,” which analyzes major themes and announcements from CES® 2017 in the markets for entertainment, smart home and security, connected health and wellness, wearables, and connected car.

“2017 CES® Coverage” is available for download off the company’s website and covers the following core areas of Parks Associates research coverage: entertainment, health/wellness and wearables, smart home/security, and connected car.

Founded more than 30 years ago, Parks Associates’ foundation of business and industry expertise is within the home controls and security industries. As these industries have evolved, the firm’s expertise and areas of coverage have also expanded to all emerging consumer IoT business areas.

Tricia Parks, the research firm’s founder, will resume the position of President and CEO as the firm continues to provide reliable research and consulting to companies in the connected consumer markets. This announcement follows the departure of Stuart Sikes.

“We appreciate Stuart Sikes’s long-term commitment to the company and wish him the best as he pursues new opportunities,” said Tricia Parks, President, CEO, and Founder, Parks Associates. “Parks Associates has provided strategic analysis and consulting for the consumer technology industries for more than 30 years. The growth and convergence of connected industries are impacting every major industry player, from service providers to device manufacturers, technology vendors to content producers, and we will continue to provide market intelligence to all these companies.”

In response to market changes, the firm recently announced several new research products, including Consumer Analytics Lens (CAL): Benchmarks for IoT and Entertainment and U.S. Smart Home Tracker: Market Sizing & Trends. These tools will help clients develop profitable business strategies in this new business environment by gaining a holistic understanding of the markets as well as helping to understand the adoption of consumer technology products and services.

“It’s critical that companies address the shifting landscape of the connected home and connected consumer technologies with strategies appropriate to their positions,” Parks said. “Parks Associates research and events strive to create an environment of learning and opportunity, as well as a greater understanding of the consumer.”

Parks Associates will host the 21st annual CONNECTIONS™: The Premier Connected Home Conference, May 23-25, in San Francisco. The conference features keynotes from Comcast, Cox Communications, Intel, and Vivint Smart Home and multiple sessions examining the implications of innovations in the IoT, smart home, connected entertainment, and connected health.
