The U.S. will have over 190 million online video users and nearly 70 million smart-TV households by 2017

International research firm will bring together industry leaders at CES 2014 to address smart home and entertainment solutions at CONNECTIONS™ Summit

New consumer research from Parks Associates estimates the U.S. will have 191 million online video users and nearly 70 million smart-TV households by 2017.

Parks Associates will host the 9th-annual CONNECTIONS™ Summit: Profiting from Connected Home Devices & Services on January 7 at 2014 International CES, in the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), North Hall, N264. The one-day event, sponsored by AT&T Digital Life, Lowe's, Pie Digital, and Radialpoint, will address connected devices, home controls platforms, second-screen services, and new services being offered to consumers.

“More than 50% of U.S. broadband households have a connection between a TV and the Internet, while the average broadband user is watching 1.6 hours of video on a mobile phone each week," said Stuart Sikes, president, Parks Associates. "With increasing connectivity, every household screen can be repurposed by a different market segment to provide new smart home and entertainment services.”

CONNECTIONS™ Summit at CES examines the challenges and opportunities for the major players in this changing ecosystem. Sessions feature insightful discussions, including Parks Associates consumer data and industry perspectives from the panel participants:
