Consumer Electronics Purchases: Quarterly Monitor (2Q 2008)

A Quarterly Service FROM PARKS ASSOCIATES
By Kurt Scherf, Vice President and Principal Analyst

Publish Date: 2Q 08

SYNOPSIS

This survey, 1,090 U.S. Internet households conducted in April 2008, examines consumer electronics purchase intentions, including those planned because of the tax rebate. It also provides data on the impact of the current U.S. economic situation on planned CE purchases and provides insight into how U.S. Internet households are trimming or are planning to trim household expenditures.

“The appetite for consumer electronics products – and particularly personal computers and high-definition televisions is high,” said Kurt Scherf, vice president and principal analyst with Parks Associates. “However, concern about the country’s economic performance may delay or altogether forestall major purchases in 2008.”
