The explosive growth in connected products and services across many vertical markets has resulted in fragmented products and services. Relevant players include:

  • Network operators
  • Security service providers
  • Energy utilities
  • CE and auto manufacturers
  • Health service providers
  • Modem / router manufacturers
  • Appliance manufacturers
  • Cloud content providers

Each connected solution meets a short-term need, but individually its capabilities are often limited to one slice of the connected home ecosystem, frustrating consumers by failing to provide the ideal experience: an end-to-end solution that seamlessly crosses the public, home, and personal networks.

Ecosystem players who do not take steps to fully integrate their solution into the connected home ecosystem will quickly be dealing with unhappy customers.

In this webcast, Parks Associates and Qualcomm highlight current gaps in current products and services, where complexities are damaging market growth by limiting the consumer experience. The presenters will discuss the technologies that can close these gaps, enable new service capabilities, and provide a truly seamless user experience.

Key Takeaways

  • Explanation of current interoperability challenges
  • Impact and limitations of the walled-garden approach
  • New opportunities created by solutions that bridge public, personal, and home networks
  • Consumer expectations for connected home systems and CE
  • Benefits to a variety of solutions in connected CE, appliances and home systems
