Domosys brings its control technology to
CONNECTIONS™ 2001 as a Platinum Sponsor
CONNECTIONS™ 2001 enhanced its
list of high-tech sponsors today with the addition of Domosys Corporation,
a leading provider of control networking technology, as a Platinum
Sponsor.
CABA and Parks Associates will co-host
CONNECTIONS™ 2001: The
International Home Networking & Gateways Showcase, the premier
conference regarding home networks, gateways, and information appliances,
on May 9-11, 2001, at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle.
The conference will attract upwards of 1,000 attendees and feature a
Showcase area where 80 sponsoring companies such as Domosys will display
the most advanced products and services in this high-tech market.
"Domosys enables home controls connectivity by providing
communication solutions, from protocols and transceivers to end-user
products and engineering services," said
Tricia Parks, president of
Parks Associates. "The Company brings value to this industry by
making OEMs successful in deploying control networks that deliver, for
example, lower energy costs for consumers and greater comfort and control
for the home."
To make good on its mission of making its customers successful in
deploying control networks, Domosys Corporation has developed a complete
portfolio of products and services. To date, these have been sold to
companies in over 40 countries around the world.
To further enhance this portfolio, Domosys is launching a new family of
robust and high-performance transceivers integrated, under the U-ChipTM
brand name. This revolutionary chip is the first device in the industry
combining a transceiver, flash memory and a high-performance 8-bit
microcontroller. It can embed a variety of control network protocols and
can be used for communication on the power line and twisted pair media.
The U-Chip is specifically designed for everyday home
appliances and other electrical devices such as dishwashers, thermostats,
televisions, sound systems, lights and air conditioners. The commercial
release of the U-ChipTM transceiver integrated circuit is
expected in the summer of 2001.
"Domosys has worked with its customers to create value by
connecting nodes, which could only be cost-effectively reached through
existing power lines," said Michel Viau, Vice President, Sales and
Marketing, for Domosys. "At CONNECTIONS 2001, Domosys will partner
with its customer C.P. Technology to demonstrate a new residential
gateway. This gateway allows homeowners and residential service providers
to control and monitor household devices and appliances remotely over the
Internet."
