Julie DeTraglia Julie DeTraglia, VP, Head of Research , Hulu

Julie DeTraglia is the Vice President and Head of Research at Hulu where she oversees the company’s research teams in ad sales, consumer marketing, and user experience. DeTraglia leads the development, design and implementation of all research initiatives at Hulu, advising business leads on sales strategy, consumer insights, customer acquisition, and product design and experience. 
 
Prior to joining Hulu, DeTraglia spent nearly 15 years at NBCUniversal, where she was most recently the SVP of Digital Research, responsible for sales research, strategy and analytics across NBC’s digital properties, including sites and apps for NBC Entertainment, News, Sports, Olympics and cable entertainment properties.  She also spent several years in TV research and integrated marketing. 
 
DeTraglia is a member of the Samba TV Data Advisory Board and multiple industry councils.  In 2017, DeTraglia was recognized as one of the top forty digital executives to watch by Campaign Magazine.  In 2018, she was also recognized by She Runs It as a Working Mother of the Year.
 
DeTraglia is a graduate of Dartmouth College and is based in New York with her husband and three sons.


Thomas Hughes Thomas Hughes, EVP - Worldwide TV & Digital Distribution, Lionsgate

Thomas Hughes holds a multifaceted position within the Worldwide Television & Digital Distribution division, including negotiating all of the contractual agreements with key digital partners such as Apple, Amazon and Vudu, as well as MVPD partners like Comcast, DirecTV, Charter, and Dish, among others. Hughes also leads the department’s strategic partnerships group that identifies ways to monetize the Company’s intellectual property among the rapidly emerging digital environment and has played an instrumental role in Lionsgate’s launch on several new platforms.
 
Additionally, Hughes oversees consumer-facing channels like Vidmark and Tribeca ShortList, as well as Lionsgate’s non-theatrical distribution including airlines, hotels and repertory businesses. Hughes also shepherded the Company’s exploration of new windowing strategies, including the day-and-date theatrical/VOD releases. He is a key member of the executive team which has guided Lionsgate to industry leadership in VOD-to-box office and digital-to-box office conversion rates.  
 
Hughes joined Lionsgate in March 2011 after serving as Vice President of Worldwide Digital at MGM for three years and prior to that he was at Scripps leading a digital sales team. Hughes has years of diversified media experience including distribution, sales, marketing, production and operations, with a major focus on innovating new business models for content creation and distribution in the digital marketplace.  
 
Early in his career, Hughes served as personal assistant for Emmy award-winning producer, director, and choreographer Kenny Ortega on projects like Michael Jackson’s Bad Tour and Dirty Dancing (TV).  He began his media career in local broadcast television news at WIS TV (NBC) while studying Media Arts the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.


Sarah Lyons Sarah Lyons, VP of OTT Media Products, AT&T

Sarah Lyons is vice president of OTT Media Products within AT&T’s Mobility and Entertainment group, leading the product vision and product management for the next generation video platform & entertainment products — the future of AT&T’s OTT video strategy.
 
Previously, Sarah was vice president of DIRECTV’s Digital Entertainment Products Group (DEPG) and was part of DEPG’s founding leadership team. Lyons was responsible for setting strategy and defining the product roadmap for mobile – and broadband – delivered video products across web, apps, and third-party connected devices. She oversaw the award-winning TV Everywhere product suite, which under her leadership became a robust streaming experience available on more than 250M mobile devices. She also was responsible for the product roadmap for the NFL SUNDAY TICKET streaming service and NFLSUNDAYTICKET.TV OTT product, growing unique streamers 70 percent year-over-year.
 
Since joining DIRECTV in 2002, Sarah has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility. Previously she was vice president of Revenue Marketing where she was responsible for generating $4B in revenue across the portfolio of incremental services including NFL SUNDAY TICKET, paid premium networks, pay-per-view movies and events. She was selected to turn around the then-declining Premium Channel business, driving continued year-over-year growth and increasing annual revenue by over $300M despite industry-wide declines of 6 to 7 percent.  She also launched DIRECTV’s first digital distribution service for streaming events online. 
   
As senior director of Direct Marketing, she was responsible for generating 2 million new subscribers annually. She overhauled the strategy and improved cost per sale by 25 percent. In her role as senior director of Acquisition Marketing, she drove new customer growth through local and national dealers and consumer electronics retailers. She also led advertising, on-premise marketing, and direct marketing for DIRECTV for Business.  
    
Prior to DIRECTV, Lyons managed marketing campaigns for a variety of clients at Bender/Helper Impact, a leading independent marketing communications and public relations firm, working with brands including LG Mobile Phones, British Telecom, Dolby and the Game Developers Conference. She began her career in public relations for AMC Networks. 
    
Lyons holds a master’s degree in Communications Management with an emphasis in Entertainment Business from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in Communications with magna cum laude honors from the University of Arizona.


John Penney John Penney, EVP, Consumer Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, 20th Century Fox

As Executive Vice President, Consumer Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, John Penney is responsible for identifying new business initiatives for the studio with an emphasis on accelerating the development and delivery of Fox’s intellectual property across content, distribution, new technology and consumer channels. Penney also leads expansion efforts in international markets.
 
A seasoned executive with proven experience in global business development, technology and strategic partnering, Penney will further evolve Fox’s strategy by focusing on new business models and compelling consumer experiences that capitalize on the rapidly changing global entertainment and technology landscapes.
 
Previously, Penney served as Chief Strategy Officer for Starz and EVP, Global Business Development for Lionsgate, where he was responsible for building and evaluating business strategies and partnerships across the companies. He was also Chairman of the Board of STARZ Play Arabia, a successful start-up premium SVOD service he helped launch in the Middle East and North Africa.
 
An early and ongoing proponent of the digital transformation of the entertainment industry, Penney was with HBO for five years, where he served as Senior Vice President, Digital Initiatives, responsible for the strategic planning, delivery, and operational management of digital businesses.
 
In addition, Penney has also held senior executive positions with IMG, Scient, and Viacom. He started his career in global media and entertainment finance having spent nearly a decade as a banker and equity research analyst for Sanford C. Bernstein and The Chase Manhattan Bank.
 
Penney was elected to the Executive Board of the Consumer Technology Association’s (CTA)® in 2014, and serves as Chairman of the Associations’ Content and Entertainment Council, is a member of its Board of Industry Leaders (BIL) and a Trustee of the CTA Foundation. He is a Founding Member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Vision Council and is also an Executive Committee member of the Television Academy’s Interactive Media Peer Group.
 
Penney holds a B.A. in Social Psychology from Wesleyan University and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy & Administration, concentrating on Science & Technology, from Columbia University. Penney also is credentialed as a Project Management Professional (PMP)®. He lives in LA with his wife and daughter.


Warren Schlichting Warren Schlichting, Group President, SlingTV

As Group President of Sling TV, Warren oversees all aspects of the Sling TV business including strategy and performance. Additionally, Warren oversees the acquisition and renewal of all programming content for DISH TV and Sling TV, and advertising sales for both groups.
 
Previously, Warren served as DISH’s Executive Vice President of Marketing, Programming and Media Sales. Prior to joining DISH in 2011, Warren led Comcast’s advanced advertising efforts on multiple media and ad delivery platforms including broadband, interactive television and video-on-demand. Before arriving at Comcast, he was CEO of Hiwire and served in executive positions for Morgan Stanley and the William E. Simon private equity group.
 
Warren has received numerous accolades for his successful career in the pay-TV industry, including CableFAX’s Top 100 Power Players, the publication's Most Innovative People in Multiscreen and Cable Advertising Bureau’s President’s awards.
 
Warren has been a frequent guest speaker and panelist on the topics of advanced television and the future of video at conferences and industry events throughout the country. He has served on several boards, including the IAB and the International Radio & Television Society, a group dedicated to increasing diversity in the media industry.
 
Warren graduated with a degree in Economics from Harvard University, and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, as well as fly fishing, hunting, hiking and mountain biking.

Nii focuses on marketing strategy for media/entertainment brands, currently employing his years of experience for Philo as the company’s Head of Marketing. Previously, he held leadership roles in marketing at Comcast and Deloitte Digital. His expertise lies within performance marketing, customer experience design, e-commerce and distribution strategy. Nii received his MBA at NYU Stern School of Business and is a graduate of Swarthmore College.


Lisa Aussieker Lisa Aussieker, VP of Sales, AT&T, MediaKind Global

Lisa Aussieker currently leads Americas Marketing and Thought Leadership at MediaKind. Over the last decade, Lisa has been part of the eight-time Emmy award-winning Ericsson TV and Media, holding responsibility for bringing several leading solutions to market in areas including VOD workflow, metadata management and enrichment, rights management, media delivery, traffic and video optimization, LTE Broadcast, and streaming video processing. Early in her career, Lisa was named in Multichannel News’ “40 under 40’” list of high performing executives from the TV engineering industry. She previously managed Tandberg Television’s OTT product portfolio before the company was acquired by Ericsson. Prior to that, Lisa was part of the two-time Emmy award-winning pioneers of interactive television at Zetools.

For over 25 years, Gabriel has focused on developing and deploying solutions and platforms that foster the intersection of information and entertainment. Prior to joining ThinkAnalytics, Gabriel was EVP of Sales and Operations at Vubiquity, a worldwide managed services provider for owners and distributors of Premium Content,(recently acquired by AMDOCS). Prior to Vubiquity, Gabriel was SVP Sales at Digitalsmiths, a recognized world leader in Content Discovey, acquired by TiVo in 2014. Greg is also an award-winning filmmaker, director & producer who has produced documentaries, feature films and digital media for over 30 years. Mr. Berkin's work has screened at international film festivals including Sundance, Cannes, Las Vegas, San Jose, Carmel, etc. Greg is also Director of Film Angels on Linkedin.com and a member of AngelList & Family Angels. With a computer science degree from Potsdam and an MBA from Duke University, Greg mentors, consults and advises over a dozen Silicon Valley start-ups in early-stage growth, strategy, investment, IP, and development in all areas of high technology. An industry executive with extensive marketing and sales experience, Michele has created dynamic campaigns for some of the largest entertainment studios including Disney, ESPN, MTV Networks and Warner Bros. In 2009, Michele co-led the industry’s first universal Movies On Demand program with CTAM and helped forge a campaign with the cable operators and movie studios garnering $30M in media to promote Transactional Movies On Demand at a time when traditional video stores were closing.
 
Michele received a BA from The University of Rhode Island and is also a graduate of the Tuck Advanced Management Program at Dartmouth College. She sits on the Executive Advisory Board for the Harrington School of Communications and the National Board of Directors for GLAAD, the organization dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate and inclusive representation in the media. She is the recipient of numerous awards including Home Media Magazine’s 2015 Women in Home Entertainment, the 2011 URI Dean’s List Distinguished Achievement Award, CTAM’s Rainmaker Award and the 2010 CTAM Chairman’s Award and was named to CableFax’s Top 100 PowerList of Executives. Scott Ehrlich Scott Ehrlich, Vice President, Emerging Platform Content, Sinclair Broadcast Group

Mr. Ehrlich has spent three decades in the media business in roles spanning licensing, production, creative development, technology, network management and programming. He's served as Executive Producer for award winning digital series including The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers (Paramount/Hulu) and Two Bellmen (Marriott Content Studio), as well as licensing content to and from digital and traditional platforms. Mr. Ehrlich has been retained as a strategic advisor to startups and established companies focused on digital video products, distribution and business models. Earlier in his career Mr. Ehrlich served in executive roles at NBC Cable (CNBC), News Corporation (News America Digital Publishing and Fox News Channel) and Real Networks (RealOne SuperPass). Mr. Ehrlich received his master's degree from The Graduate School of Political Management and his undergraduate degree from Kenyon College.

Kristen Finney Kristen Finney, EVP, EMEA TVD, 20th Century Fox

As Executive Vice President of EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) for Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution (TCFTVD), Kristen Finney is responsible for overseeing all content licensing deals across Pay, Basic and Free TV and Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) in the EMEA region.
 
Finney leads an international team of sales executives in strategically distributing all feature films and television series from Twentieth Century Fox Film, Twentieth Century Fox Television, Fox 21 Television Studios, FX Productions, Fox 2000, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Fox Animation and other 21st Century Fox companies. Together, Finney and her team are responsible for licensing content to more than 250 clients in over 140 territories. 
 
In 2016, Finney was promoted to Executive Vice President, EMEA as part of a restructure of TCFTVD, which unified the licensing efforts throughout all television distribution media and platforms and aligned the sales organization around the three major regions: The Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. 
 
Before leading the EMEA sales team, Finney was Senior Vice President, Worldwide Pay TV and SVOD, where she significantly contributed to the company’s financial strategy and growth by negotiating multi-million dollar Pay TV and SVOD deals. Finney and her team were responsible for the company’s Pay TV and SVOD licensing for the following major territories: the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, Central and Eastern European Countries, Turkey, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Southeast Asia. 
 
Previously based out of the London sales office, Finney led international licensing negotiations for half of the European region including the UK, France and the Nordics as Vice President, International Pay-Per-View, Video-On-Demand and Electronic Sell-Through.   
 
A graduate of Stanford Law School, Finney’s first role at Twentieth was as Senior Counsel, Transactional (Digital Technologies and Content Protection) in Los Angeles where she led negotiations on technology and security requirements in a wide variety of content distribution deals across both the studio and network group.
 
Prior to her fifteen year tenure at Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Finney served as Director, Legal Affairs and Senior Counsel at Discovery Communications, Inc.  At Discovery, Finney negotiated content license agreements and was the lead deal lawyer for TLC’s, Travel Channel’s and Animal Planet’s online and domestic consumer products and airline distribution groups.
