Marc Abrams, Product Line Manager, DSL CPE, Broadcom (on behalf of Gatespace) Marc Abrams is currently product line manager for Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) at Broadcom. Marc has more than 15 years of industry experience in LAN and WAN networking, including directing networking sales for a nationwide PC retailer, managing sales and marketing for two different network management start-up companies, and most recently at Intel where he was responsible for marketing of DSL CPE and residential gateways. Cheri Anderson, Ph.D., Principal Consultant, SRI Business Intelligence Dr. Cheri Anderson is the research director of SRI Consulting's VALS™ Program, which specializes in applying country-specific consumer segmentations to help clients create effective new business and marketing strategies. Annie earned a bachelor of business degree from the University of Texas. Yehuda Binder, President & Founder, SerCoNet Inc. Mr. Yehuda Binder founded SerCoNet LTD in 1998. As CEO, Yehuda is responsible for the Company’s current development and operational efforts, as well as defining its future strategic directions. He has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunication market, specifically in the development of complex electronic systems. Tom Des Jardins, CTO, Lighting Cast Selected for the past two years as one of the 50 most important people in streaming media this year, Tom Des Jardins is the founder of Lightningcast, the dominant advertising technology company in streaming media. Tom Des Jardins has been an authority in delivering multimedia over the Internet since the early 90s. With patents and books in the field, Mr. Des Jardins has been helping to guide the growth of the industry since working at pioneer networking companies such FORE systems in the early days of the Internet. His vision of the colliding advertising and Internet technologies and that collision’s impact on the consumer is often controversial. Ms. Dickerson joined CEA in September 2000 as manager, member relations for the Integrated Home Systems Product Division. In her current role, Ms. Dickerson has worked with the HNIT Division Board to launch CEA's TechHome Rating System, a one-page form that allows consumers, realtors and builders to rate the technological sophistication of a home. The Division is also completing a TechHome Media Tour that will visit TV studios nationwide to demonstrate the lifestyle applications enabled by home networks. Ms. Dickerson worked as part of the team that successfully merged the Home Automation and Networking Association (HANA) into CEA January 1, 2002 to form the new TechHome Product Division. The TechHome Division is focused on the role of the professional integrator as a vital link in the channel for home networking products. From 1998- 2000, Ms. Dickerson served as the Director of Communications for the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) in Silver Spring, MD. During her tenure at NBFAA Ms. Dickerson served as the main liaison to the media, coordinated several groundbreaking awards programs and served as editor and designer for the association's newsletter, and other printed pieces. Eric Dishman, Manager, Proactive Health Research, Intel Research Chair, Health Subcommittee, Intel Research Council, Intel Eric Dishman received three Bachelor of Art degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in speech communication, English (with Honors), and drama. He went on to earn a Master of Science in speech communication from Southern Illinois University and is a Ph.D. candidate in communication from the University of Utah. Prateek Dwivedi is a founding employee and serves as the director of product marketing for Casero Inc., where he drives the product vision and functionality. Jeremy Friedlander, Director of Corporate Marketing, BroadJump One of BroadJump's earliest employees, Jeremy Friedlander, director of corporate marketing, was instrumental in helping define the market BroadJump pursues today. Ken Fuhrman is the founder and CEO of Interact-TV Inc. Ken has over 18 years of experience designing products for video and graphics systems for the broadcast television, cable, and video industries. He designed one of the first 2-way cable systems while at American Television and Communications (ATC) in the early 1980s in Englewood, CO. He was an early technical innovator in cable TV solutions, helping design applications for 2-way cable systems. He has extensive experience in designing products, primarily software oriented. After ATC Ken went to Ampex Corporation and developed numerous video products for special effects, 2D paint systems, real-time graphics systems for TV and video switchers. Ken founded Evolving Video Technologies (EVT) in 1994, which developed real-time 2D and 3D graphics systems for the television industries. EVT has customers such as Bloomberg TV, CBS, NBC, Weather Channel, and CNN. EVT merged with RTSET in 1999, which went public on the Neuer Market in Germany in November 1999. Ken founded Interact-TV Inc. in April 2000. Interact-TV's Digital Entertainment Solutions represent a culmination of work for him over the last 18 years. Ken has patents on anti-aliasing technologies, and he is a published author having written papers on software design and various video technologies. Ken received a B.S. in computer science from the University of Denver. Ken Goldsholl is the CEO of PRISMIQ (formerly Oxygnet), a California-based start-up developing networked entertainment gateways, the next wave of set-top boxes, digital entertainment centers, and related devices that exploit broadband access. He was the founder and CEO of Atlas Communication Engines, Inc., which was acquired by audio and video conferencing equipment leader Polycom in December 1999. After key members of the Atlas team founded Oxygnet, Mr. Goldsholl funded the Company, which focuses on the hardware and software components that comprise the networked home. In addition to PRISMIQ, Mr. Goldsholl started and financed other start-up companies that provide critical technology needed to support the networked home, including Movidis, Inc., which is creating the first affordable single-rack high-end streaming media server; and Maverick Power Systems, which is focusing on power products that eliminate the need for annoying and clumsy wall-mount power adapters while providing network connections for small electronic devices. He has a B.S. in electrical engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Duane Gauger, Future Home Innovation Manager, The P&G Distributing Company Duane Gauger drives the vision of Procter & Gamble products being purchased and used differently in the store and the home of the future. As a future home innovation manager, he finds new ways to make P&G products do more for consumers and be more profitable for P&G customers. Duane has 27 years of experience with P&G. He has held a variety of positions in P&G sales and IT functions. In his career, he has pioneered new ways of using technology to empower P&Gers to do more, do it faster, and do it easier. A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Helt is a recognized leader in the design and development of electronic heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) controls. Mr. Kayton was the CEO and co-founder of Paros Software, a firm specializing in Web services software, which was acquired by Oxygnet in July 2002. Keith Laepple, Director, Technical Evangelism, Windows eHome Division, Microsoft Corporation Keith Laepple leads a team responsible for technical industry relationships with the Windows eHome Division, a new product group extending the Microsoft® Windows® platform for distributed entertainment, communications, and control in the home. Joan McCloskey, Editorial Marketing Director, Better Homes & Gardens As editorial marketing director, Joan serves as the liaison between editorial and advertising/marketing. She helps develop collaborative programs that further the BH&G brand, support editorial and advertising goals, and create strategic alliances with advertisers. Prior to assuming this position in 2002, she was the executive building and remodeling editor, responsible for all new housing, remodeling, kitchen and bath articles in the magazine- including supervision of the design and construction of one or two houses each year. An expert in new housing trends, Ms. McCloskey is a frequent speaker at the National Association of HomeBuilders (NAHB) annual convention and Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies gatherings. She served on the Design Committee of NAHB for 10 years, shepherding the “Best in American Living” competition among builders and architects. Matt McRae, Director of Broadband Services, Linksys Matthew McRae serves as the broadband strategist for Linksys and is responsible for positioning the Company as a leader in the broadband CPE industry. This includes sales, business development, product definition, and channel strategy across the Company's cable, DSL, and home networking product lines. Prior to his work at Linksys, McRae consulted for several networking companies, including Actiontec Electronics, BlueWave IP Networks, Intelenet Communications, and IP Global Solutions. He provided guidance and expertise in the areas of IP networking, product design, market positioning, value-added services, CPE strategy, deployment planning, and business models. Previously, he led the marketing, product roadmap, and business development efforts at Infinilink Corporation, a start-up broadband CPE and software company. Patrick Moorhead, Vice President, Customer Advocacy, AMD; Chairman, Global Consumer Advisory Board Patrick Moorhead is a key industry thought leader on how to generate greater end-user demand for computing products and services. Moorhead leads AMD’s Customer Advocacy Initiative (CAI) — the semiconductor company’s program for understanding end-user technology needs and usage patterns and driving an open, ongoing dialogue with end users. In this role, he serves as a bridge between real home and business consumer needs and behaviors and the creation of more relevant and innovative computing technologies. He is responsible for outreach to industry executives, influencers, and consumer advocates to examine and advance the consumer technology experience. Mark Wilkinson, Technostrategist/EQLAccess Program, The Rehabilitation Institute at Santa Barbara As a consultant to the Rehabilitation Institute at Santa Barbara, Mark Wilkinson has co-led the hospital's technology initiative from its formation through its launch this year. The initiative, titled EQLaccess, is a proof of concept incubator for the adaptation of information technology related assistance to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Pilot programs include the EQLaccess Virtual Reality Therapy for Cognitive Disorders in conjunction with University of California, Santa Barbara and the EQLaccess Internet Home for People with Disabilities. The Internet home for people with disabilities program is supported by donations and venture philanthropy from technology companies.
