Parks Associates’ Executive Conference to Offer Attendees Free and Discounted Consumer and Industry Research and Analysis on the State of Residential Technologies

DALLAS, TX  September 20, 2001 –  Parks Associates’ 14th annual executive conference Forum 2001:  Leveraging Digital Opportunities, originally scheduled for October 1-3, 2001, at the Regent Las Vegas, has been rescheduled for December 12-14 at the same location.  This postponement comes in the wake of altered travel schedules that resulted from the tragic disasters of September 11, 2001.  To provide value to all attendees of this year’s Forum, Parks Associates will be distributing free consumer data during a special presentation at the conference, and it will be offering a discounted pre-conference workshop provides the latest consumer data and industry analysis.

“Many companies have altered travel arrangements following last week’s horrible events,” said Tricia Parks, president of the market research and consulting company.  “By moving Forum to December, we are enabling our sponsors, speakers, and attendees to participate in a fantastic conference.  We have received many notes of support from our sponsors and speakers, and we anticipate that the conference program will be largely unaltered.”

Parks Associates is offering free and discounted research to its attendees and sponsors during Forum 2001.  This will include:

·        A pre-conference workshop:  “Leveraging Digital Opportunities Across Categories:  Designing Applications for Today's Consumer” will be held on Wednesday, December 12, from 11 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.  This workshop will include Parks Associates’ latest consumer research and data on the current and projected status of a variety of technologies and solutions, including broadband Internet access, home networking, the residential gateway and bundled services, interactive media to the home, and home security/home controls.  This workshop has been discounted for all interested attendees.

·        On Friday, December 14, Parks Associates will provide the results from special consumer research.  This session – “Mission Possible:  Understanding the Consumer” will include information from, among other sources, recent focus groups conducted with college-age teenagers; home owners who are married with children; and mature Americans.  Each attendee at the session will also receive a summary report of this research.
